Or Perhaps an Archeologist

The Ark of the Covenant is a box that was said to hold the stone tablets on which the Ten Commandments were written. The Ark was kept in the Tabernacle, which was a tent constructed by the children of Israel under the supervision of Moses.

Yesterday, school was closed so we went to the Wright's house for a couple hours of play. Caitlin and Camryn had been playing church and wanted to know if Joshua wanted to play church too. After a bit time passed, I went upstairs to see what they were doing. The princess tent set up in the girls room was the church and they were all inside. Then I heard Joshua...

Caitlin, there was this Ark in a tent in the Bible.

And, he started flipping through Caitlin's Bible story book. Caitlin wanted to stop at Noah's ark, but Joshua told her it wasn't that ark, it was a different Ark. And, sure enough, he found a picture of the Ark of the Covenant in her book (it isn't talked about, but there is a picture in Joshua's Bible story book too).

Caitlin, there is a man called Indiana Jones. And this is the Ark that he looks for in a movie.

Joshua was a little disappointed that Caitlin wasn't too interested in hearing about Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. But, they moved on, played other things, and had a wonderful time.

Jessica, thanks for having us over!
