Happy Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving. This year, I have much to be thankful for...I have my family and we are all happy, healthy and employed.

And being that people are in need of water safe for human consumption on Thanksgiving Day, Scott has to work. Actually, we are happy that he had to work today, Thursday, because that means he has Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. We will be having our big turkey dinner tomorrow.

Today, Joshua and I went to see Bolt at the movie theater. So with our 3-D glasses, sour gummy worms, popcorn and drinks in hand, we settled in to watch the movie. It was really really good, I only had a little tear or two, Joshua sat on the edge of his seat through the exciting parts. We both enjoyed it.

After the movie, we went to the dollar store because it was open and then to the grocery store. Joshua had already informed me that since we couldn't have turkey he wanted pizza. I felt odd walking through the grocery store, which was pretty crowded with people buying their last minute items or ingredients they ran out of (I spied whipped cream, butter, bottle of wine and some canned goods), and buying frozen pizza. I had a strong urge to tell everyone that my husband had to work and we are having turkey tomorrow. I guess I didn't want to seem anti-Thanksgiving or something. Funny how something so silly really did bother me.

The evening was filled with pizza and Home Alone on television. Joshua had not seen Home Alone before. He was really sad when Kevin's family left him, wanted to know if I would ever forget to take him, told me he would just sit and wait for me to come home if I did ever leave him, worried that bad guys were going to come try to steal our stuff, worried that a hurricane might come to our house (this disaster thing has been a recurring topic of conversation recently...Joshua worries a lot about tornadoes, fires and now hurricanes destroying our house), was reassured when I explained that hurricanes usually don't come this far away from the ocean, decided he didn't want to have a beach house anymore and then was most concerned about Kevin's presents Christmas morning...where are his presents? what did he get? He wasn't satisfied with the answer that he got his family back on Christmas morning, he wanted to know about the toys!

I'll let you know how the turkey turns out...
