Here I am, blogging...who woulda thunk it?!

When Joshua was a newborn, we got the video camera, I bought the photo album, I took all the pictures, I kept all the "baby memorabilia." I had real intentions of recording for posterity Joshua's entire childhood. But some how, with the dirty diapers, the bottles, the crying, the sleepless nights, Joshua's first year of life got strewn in a box, where it remains to this day. Joshua took his first couple of unaided steps right around his 1st birthday, which brings us to the toddler years.

The year between the 1st birthday and the 3rd birthday are full of milestones and more pictures. The milestones are forgotten, the pictures are in the box or online. I know we had many firsts, first steps, first words, firsts unremembered.

I do recall my first unsolicited "I love you," I do not recall the day, time, place or circumstance. I remember talking to my mom on the phone and telling her about it. She told me I needed to start keeping a journal so that I could remember all these things....and I'm thinking to myself...yea, I'll start on that right away... I'll squeeze it in between my Suzy Homemaker class and my tennis lesson. Anyway, I am a member of a moms group and I posted it there, I'll always have it, why do I need to keep a journal?

Fast forward to today. Joshua is no longer a newborn, the toddler years are gone, he is now a preschooler. There are 33,585 posts from the Yahoo group (can you girls believe we had that many posts on Yahoo?!) and who knows how many on MSN that I need to browse through looking for references of those lost firsts. And, I am a blogger....
